Domaine Pont-Roche & Spa: romance in the heart of Burgundy

First of all, a small but important clarification: we are not a hotel.

Both of our accommodation options are listed in the ‘unusual and unconventional accommodation’ category because they are built on stilts. But be warned! They’re nothing like the sort of ‘unusual’ accommodation you’d typically find – such as most tree houses, yurts or caravans – which often offer very basic facilities (dry toilets, no running water or electricity, etc.).

Le Cube and La Cabane are, first and foremost, two high-end accommodation options (offering every comfort), featuring refined, tasteful and elegant décor combined with a high standard of comfort.

• You’ve decided to rent our iconic accommodation, the CUBE! You’ll be choosing a truly modern, fully equipped and stylish 50 m² flat in the heart of the countryside, featuring large floor-to-ceiling windows through which you can admire the natural surroundings and the river.
• When you choose to rent the CABANE, you’re opting for a 20 m² studio that’s very well-equipped, cosy and elegant, with a cosy, homely feel; the River Ignon flows right past the terrace.

Both of our accommodation options feature outdoor lighting to enhance your romantic evenings – all, as you will have gathered, in the utmost comfort.  

In conclusion, you should always set the bar at the right level to avoid any nasty surprises… these days, a high price isn’t always a guarantee of quality ✅ 

The minimum stay with us is 2 nights in order to get the most out of the place and share a slow stay ✅ 

A minimum stay of 3 nights is recommended if you wish to visit our beautiful region.

For decks, the minimum stay required is the duration of the deck, Cube and Cabin.

The estate is accessible by car.

Each accommodation has a private parking space.

The Cube car park is located 25m away

The car park of the Cabane is located at 10m

Breakfasts are no longer provided following Article 24 of the 2024 Finance Act, Act No. 2023-1322 of 29 December 2023.

Coffee, tea and chocolate are available in our two cottages. 

There is a bakery 7 km from the estate, and both of our cottages have fully equipped kitchens. This means you can prepare your own breakfasts on site. The bakery is closed on Wednesdays.

Yes, everything is available and the beds are made when you arrive, however some guests come with their sheets which I can understand, so if you wish to bring your own sheets, please let me know in advance so that I don't have to prepare your bed. Thank you for your understanding ✅ 

The cube is equipped with a 160x200cm keen-size bed and percale or linen sheets.

The cabin has a 140x200cm bed and linen sets.

Please bring slippers for indoors.

No, the accommodations are not equipped to receive babies, children must know how to swim to access the domain.

Yes, by appointment, at a cost of 50 euros for 2 people for a 1-hour well-being session. 

We offer a selection of tried and tested places to eat around the Domaine Pont Roche. All orders must be paid for directly with these businesses.

ON THE SEINE OF WINE In Saint Seine l’Abbaye, tel: 06.04.45.15.02 Abiba (former head sommelier at Bernard Loiseau) offers a menu of homemade dishes and desserts. Depending on your preferences (allergen-free, vegetarian), Abiba will be delighted to create a tailor-made menu for you, accompanied by a selection of sulphite-free wines. To be collected on site after placing your order.  

If you would like to dine at a restaurant, we highly recommend THE EVIDENCE Located in Blaisy-Bas, just 30 minutes from the estate. Tel: 0380330303 Chef Yann Zwysig and his wife look forward to welcoming you.

Yes, you’ll find a butcher’s and delicatessen specialising in locally sourced produce (100% Côte d’Or) at Carnesian in Is-sur-Tille (15 km), as well as several supermarkets and petrol stations. You can also visit the Labergement farm, 3 km away, which sells excellent local produce. The farms around the estate are not open every day!

Do you have a specific request?

In order to ensure the peace and comfort of our accommodation, Domaine Pont Roche does not normally allow pets.

However, each request may be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to stay with your dog, please contact us before making a booking.

Any accommodation will be subject to our prior approval and compliance with the estate’s rules and regulations.

For massages, we recommend a spa located 15 minutes from the estate: Le Cocon d’Élise.

As you have chosen accommodation in the countryside, we advise you to make the necessary arrangements before you arrive… 

Either book a restaurant in advance, or do your shopping in Is-sur-Tille at CARNESIAN Tel: 03 73 55 07 80 in Is-sur-Tille (15 minutes) from the estate – you’ll find 100% Côte d’Or products there!

Our two private Nordic baths, each with a capacity of 2 people, are cleaned and drained completely between each rental, so you can enjoy your well-being sessions in YOUR WATER, the water from our spring.

Our baths are prepared for your arrival, at a temperature of 39/40 degrees in winter and cooler on request in summer. You will have a stock of wood to fuel the fireplace to extend your sessions.

However, it sometimes happens that some customers do not use the Nordic bath during their stay, which is why we ask you to confirm whether you would like it to be prepared for your arrival to avoid heating it for nothing... Thank you for your understanding.

The Domaine Pont Roche is an intimate domain, the Cube and the Cabane are located on the same bank along the river without any opposite and sufficiently spaced to guarantee your privacy.

Both of our accommodation options are fitted with a standard toilet inside the unit, separate from the walk-in shower, as well as running water, electricity and heating, ensuring maximum comfort all year round.

Recommendation for HEATING.

There are no electricity meters in our accommodation, so we do not charge for your electricity usage during your stay; this is included in the price. However, we would ask you to be mindful: our accommodation is very well insulated, so there is no need to turn the heating up to full. Please also ensure that the French windows and other windows are properly closed whilst the heating is on.

What is the difference between a Nordic bath and a jacuzzi...A Nordic bath is a bath as the name suggests, there are no bubbles and no engine noise!

Our private Nordic baths are heated over a wood fire, so you can extend your tête-à-tête sessions.

Things to remember about the benefits of Nordic bathing

A session of Nordic bath consists of taking a bath outside in a tank filled with very hot water. The best way to benefit from the benefits of Nordic bathing is to practice it regularly.

This ritual will certainly bring you peace of mind. body relaxation and relaxation of the mind. It helps to eliminate toxins and prevent winter ailments. The Nordic bath also promises a good night's sleep.

We'll give you a personal, dedicated welcome - there's no letterbox to collect your keys, and no keypad at Domaine Pont Roche!

At Domaine Pont Roche, we have chosen not to install air conditioning, as it releases hot air!

If you follow our instructions carefully, you'll be able to keep your cool in the summer. 

Please bring your own slippers for indoors, as we no longer supply disposable slippers! 

We use eco-friendly cleaning products sourced from a French central purchasing organisation (less packaging and no middlemen!) 

Our private Nordic baths are filled with spring water and heated over a wood fire.

Please let us know if you would like your Nordic bath to be prepared for your arrival, so that we don't have to prepare it for nothing if you don't want this service.

The Cube is equipped with a television and a Bose speaker. Free fibre optic WIFI.

The Cabane is not equipped with a television, so bring your own speaker. Free high-speed fibre WIFI.

The answer is yes! And we’ve just been awarded the «Bord de l’eau» certification by Rives de Rêves ✅   

A deposit of 300 euros will be required, (cheque or cash) please give it to us on your arrival, it will be returned to you at the end of your stay.

It's quite surprising, but there aren't very many mosquitoes on the Pont Roche estate, as I can attest, as I live there all year round.

We do not have electric recharging facilities at the Domaine, but there are charging points nearby, 15 km away in Saint Seine l'Abbaye and Is sur Tille at the Intermarché supermarket.

Presentation of the «Ignon», the first category river that crosses our property.

As mentioned above, the Ignon is a small first category river, so you will be able to fish in No Kill (with your own equipment), only during the open season (14 March to 20 September 2026) and of course with a fishing licence.

Safety : 

The Ignon is a peaceful little river, but it can get out of its bed, although this is rare. Everything's fine, we're in a small valley with fields and plots of land that allow the water to spread out and infiltrate... so there's no danger ✅

These were designed by the architectural firm AR-TEK 

Before building our two cottages, Richard and Vincent Cretin took into account the 100-year flood level plus an additional margin.

THE CUBE is set on techno-piles high enough to allow the river to leave its bed without causing any damage, so you can feel perfectly safe both indoors and out. All the more reason to enjoy the show.

THE CABANE This is laid on concrete piles with the same safety standards.

Yoga sessions 🧘 in our wonderful surroundings ✅ 

Margo Yogamaga21 offers quality yoga lessons to beginners and advanced students alike, and continues to train in the Lyengar method with experienced and recognised teachers in France and abroad. She has been practising this method for several years and has built up an excellent reputation in Burgundy. She is currently being mentored to become certified. Margo is a member of the AFVY (Association Française de Yoga Lyengar).

She will come to the Domaine for a minimum of 2 people.

Both of our cottages are equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, and a few capsules are provided for your use.

Both of our cottages have a air conditioning natural. Indeed, from dusk until dawn, our little valley stays cool thanks to the river.

From next season in 2027, Le Cube will be fitted with an external sliding shutter on the east-facing glass front to provide even greater comfort during heatwaves.

We’ll also give you a few tips to ensure your stay goes smoothly ✅ 2027 

From 2027, the Cube will be equipped with a private, unheated «ma piscine mobile» swimming pool. This will be exclusively for Cube guests and available from June to September. During this summer period, the Cube’s Nordic bath will be closed. 

If you book our CUBE accommodation, I’ll be happy to provide you with a night-vision monocular (on request) if you’d like one! 

It will give you the chance to enjoy a rare and unique experience in Burgundy: observing wildlife without disturbing the animals or the natural environment.

To do this, simply take a stroll just behind the CUBE and watch the animals as if it were broad daylight!

We’ll discuss it when you arrive!

We’ve set the scene for your romantic evenings by providing outdoor lighting. Not only is the view of the river spectacular, but the light also attracts small insects, so you won’t be disturbed.

We’ve also decided not to fit a timer switch – so you’re in control of the lighting.

The only thing we ask of you is that you don’t leave it on all night, so please switch it off when you go to sleep… And please also make sure it isn’t left on during the day!

The Coquille spring in Étalante – make sure you wear sturdy shoes; it’s a 15-minute walk from the estate.
